Garage Sale Fun!

Yippee! Garage Sale Season is upon us! Here are the treasures I found this weekend garage sale-ing in Anna & Van Alstyne with my sister Amanda...

A sweet little cream pitcher for 50 cents!

How can you not buy something monogrammed with your initial? It is like it is meant to be...

The green umbrella I showed you in an earlier post

Here is THE find. I have been wanting an old typewriter for quite awhile and was hoping to find one in Round Top. Well, I found it in Anna instead!

The typewriter AND the fun little stand were $25. I was pleased as punch!
OH, and speaking of punch...I found a wonderful punch bowl with the cups included for only $5. I forgot to take a picture of it though. Just trust me, it is cute. Perfect for a Springtime Luncheon!

piano!

We have a new old (1904) piano! We have wanted an old upright for a long time so when my sweet friend Mandy was getting rid of one from her grandmother's house in downtown McKinney we snatched it up! The neat thing about it is her grandmother said the piano was originally in a house in ... Anna! So after a century, it has come home! We are so pleased to have it!

It took some serious manpower to get it in the house.
THANK YOU, BOYS!!!

Whew!

Now it is home, sweet home in the dining room.

These are two old hymnbooks from my collection I found at a garage sale a few years ago.
I LOVE HYMNS!
I am making Justin play a hymn for me every day. :)
He is the only one in the house that can play.
We will start Jack in lessons in a year or so. I want lessons too!

A Sweet Reminder

These two items have been decorating my kitchen table for several weeks, but just the other day it occured to me that this display can be a sweet little reminder...

Jack taking in his first rodeo with Poppers in Ft.Worth

Dreaming of his Home on the Range....

I LOVE this old building where the rodeo was held.
It was the world's first indoor rodeo. Built in 1908. Love that old architecture!!!

Dinosaurs!

We went to the museum in Ft. Worth only to find out they were CLOSED for the day.
So we just enjoyed the outdoor displays ...for FREE! :)

Good thing Jack has his Poppers to protect him!
